How to get started
- Create a free account or log in (optional - you can still use the site and create music without having an account)
- Click on Sign up near the bottom of the orange section, then click on Get a Free Account at the bottom of the green column.
- Create an account with your email address and password
- Sign into your email account and click on the confirmation email
- Click on Studio at the top left, then click on Chrome version (if using Chrome as your browser) or click on Flash version (if using another browser such as Firefox or Safari)
How to select loops
- The right side of the screen contains folders full of loops. Under the larger folder of Free Sounds there are five other folders
- Electronica - electronic drum and instrument loops
- MIDI (these are MIDI loops, and can only be used on MIDI tracks, not audio tracks)
- Soundscape - recorded sounds, such as talking, animal sounds, singing, etc)
- Urban - acoustic drum and instrument loops
- Xtra Diverse - various acoustic and electronic instrument and drum loops
- Click on any of the folders, and double click on sounds to preview what they sound like.
- Once you have selected one that you want to use, click and drag it onto the left side of the screen into an audio track (Audio channel 1, 2, 3, etc).
How to make the loops longer or move the loop
- To make the loop longer, click and hold on the top right corner of the loop while using the mouse or touchscreen to make it longer
- To move the loops, click and hold in the middle of the loop while using the mouse or touchscreen to move it
How to save your project and export as a .wav file
- You must be logged in to your account in order to save!
- Near the top left corner of the screen (under the browser's address bar) click on File, then click on Save As
- To save as a .wav file, click on File (near the top left corner of the screen under the browser's address bar), then click on Export .wav file
How to record your voice or other audio
- Select an audio track on the left side of the screen
- To record, click on the record button (circle button near the bottom center of the screen), then press stop button once you are finished recording
- In order to not record the other tracks at the same time, you may choose to to click on S (for solo) on the audio track you are recording on, or click on M (for mute) on the other tracks
